Well I made it to Switzerland in one piece and all my luggage made it with me.
The plane ride was miserable. I don’t like to sit down very much, in fact I am always standing or moving, so 9 hours on a plane in cramped seating wasn’t the most memorable time I’ve had. But they showed a couple movies and served dinner and breakfast, so it wasn’t all bad.
Navigating the airport and train station wasn’t quite so easy. As a matter of fact I missed my first train. Now there was a reason for this and it may not be what you think it is.
Before I left I was so nervous about how I was going to manage finding all the different things that I had to find in order to safely arrive in Chur from Zurich. (Chur is where Jennifer is living for the next month.) Well I told myself on more than one occasion leading up to my departure that I was going to get lost.
Why is this important? Simple. This is the one thing that most of us do before starting a daunting task, and it inevitably always leads to failure. I set myself up to fail before I even left on my trip. I literally made my mind believe that I was going to fail… and I FAILED! Not drastically. I mean, I didn’t have to turn around and come back home because I missed the first train. Not at all. I just got on the next one that left 23 minutes later.
Now the New Year is just a week away. What are you telling yourself (that inner monologue with yourself) when you think of all the things you want to accomplish for the New Year? Is it negative or positive? Are you setting yourself up for failure or success?
Having the right mind set is crucial to your success! Whether it is furthering your career or reaching that weight loss goal that you set for yourself every year. Set yourself up for SUCCESS by approaching your New Year resolutions with a positive outlook and a burning desire to meet your goals.
In closing I would like to leave you with a couple of images of Jennifer and I from Switzerland. We’re having a blast!
